Use this interactive demo to learn how to share and collaborate on a Coda doc with others.

Quick summary

Sharing a Coda doc lets you collaborate in real time by inviting teammates via email, copying a shareable link, embedding the doc in another tool, or publishing it publicly. All sharing options are accessible from the Share button in the top-right corner of any Coda document.

Steps

  1. Go to Coda.io and open the document you want to share.
  2. In the top-right corner, click the Share button.
  3. Share via email by entering the recipient's email address, or click Copy link to generate a shareable URL.
  4. Choose how to share your Coda doc by selecting the appropriate sharing method from the available options.
  5. To embed the Coda doc in another platform, click Copy embed to grab the embed code.
  6. Optionally, publish your Coda doc to make it publicly accessible.

📌 Why this matters

Sharing documents efficiently is essential for modern team collaboration, and Coda makes it simple to share docs in multiple ways — via email invite, shareable link, embed code, or public publish. This flexibility means teams can keep stakeholders aligned whether they need full edit access, view-only access, or an embedded reference in another tool. Coda's sharing controls give document owners precise oversight over who sees what, reducing information silos and speeding up cross-functional workflows. For teams evaluating all-in-one doc platforms, Coda's robust sharing features are a key reason it stands out from traditional document tools.
