Transactional emails in Customer.io allow you to send critical, one-to-one messages (like password resets or purchase receipts) triggered by an API call rather than a segment-based campaign.
- On your Customer.io main dashboard, click Transactional in the left sidebar.
- Start building your message by clicking on the Create Transactional Message button.
- Enter a clear title in the Name field and provide an optional Description to help your team identify the message’s purpose.
- Select or create a Tag if you want to categorize this message for better reporting.
- Click the Next: Add content button to proceed to the message editor.
- Choose your Template or build the email from scratch, ensuring you use Liquid tags for dynamic data like names or order numbers.
- Click Save and move to the Review tab to Review your campaign for any missing links or code errors.
- Click the Send Message button to confirm your audience and delivery settings.
- You’re all set!
