Use this interactive demo to learn how to build a visual vision board inside Notion.

Quick summary

A Notion vision board lets you organize and display inspirational images in a structured, multi-column layout using built-in image blocks and drag-and-drop tools. You can source images from Pinterest or Google Images and arrange them directly inside a Notion page without any third-party plugins.

Steps

  1. Create a new Notion page and enter a title; optionally add an icon and a banner.
  2. Use Pinterest, Google Images, or similar tools to find and collect inspirational images that match your vision and style.
  3. Back in Notion, type the slash command /image to search for and insert an Image Block.
  4. Upload an image to the block or insert it using a link from your chosen source.
  5. Note that the upload block only accepts one image at a time, which can slow down building a full vision board.
  6. Instead, drag and drop multiple images directly into Notion at once for faster image collection.
  7. To create a column layout, hover over an image and use the 6-dotted handle to drag it beside another image.
  8. Resize images and add as many columns as needed to achieve your desired board layout.
  9. Use the spaces between images to add text blocks and headings, just like any other Notion page.
  10. Your Notion vision board is now complete and ready to inspire!

📌 Why this matters

Creating a vision board in Notion allows individuals to centralize their goals and inspirational imagery in a single, organized workspace without needing a dedicated design tool. Notion's native image blocks and drag-and-drop column layout make it easy to build a visually rich, customizable vision board in minutes. Because Notion syncs across devices, your vision board stays accessible and up to date wherever you work or plan. This approach is ideal for anyone looking to combine personal goal-setting with the productivity and flexibility of a digital workspace.
