Quick summary

Coda lets you create structured documentation in seconds by combining AI-generated content, tables, embeds, and interactive elements inside a single Coda doc. This step-by-step walkthrough shows how to build, format, and share a Coda doc with your team using built-in tools.

Steps

  1. Click "+ Blank Doc" and give it a name to start a new document.
  2. Type / inside the doc and select "Write a ..." from the slash command menu.
  3. Enter your content prompt, then click "Create" to automatically generate content with AI.
  4. Click the "+" icon and select "Table" to insert a structured table into your doc.
  5. Type "/Embed" to add images, videos, or links as embedded content.
  6. Click "Insert" to add interactive elements such as Buttons, Formulas, or Checklists.
  7. Click "Share" to invite your team members and collaborate on the doc.

📌 Why this matters

Coda is an all-in-one doc platform that replaces scattered tools by combining text, tables, embeds, and automations in a single living document. Creating structured documentation in Coda helps teams centralize knowledge, reduce context-switching, and keep everyone aligned in real time. With built-in AI content generation and interactive elements like buttons and formulas, Coda makes it fast to produce polished, functional docs without switching between apps. For teams evaluating collaborative documentation software, Coda offers a flexible, scalable alternative to static wikis or siloed spreadsheets.
