Quick summary
A table of contents in Coda is inserted using the Outline block, which automatically generates clickable navigation links from your document's headings. Once added, it updates automatically whenever headings are added or changed — no manual refreshing required.
Steps
- Open your Coda document where you want to add a table of contents.
- Place your cursor at the spot where you'd like your Table of Contents to appear.
- Click the + icon in the left margin or use the / command to open the insert menu.
- Type 'Table of Contents' in the search bar and select 'Outline' from the options that appear.
- Coda will automatically generate a clickable Table of Contents based on all your document's headings.
- Your Table of Contents will update automatically as you add or change headings — no manual refreshing needed.
