Use this interactive demo to learn how to import a Notion database as a synced table in Coda.

Quick summary

This tutorial shows how to convert a Notion database into a Coda table using the Notion Pack inside a Coda doc. By connecting your Notion account and syncing a database, you can bring structured Notion data directly into Coda's flexible, formula-powered workspace.

Steps

  1. Inside your Coda doc, go to the top-right corner and click Insert.
  2. Tap the Packs tab to proceed.
  3. Choose Notion from the list of options under Packs.
  4. Click Database to select the data type.
  5. Tap Connect to Notion to begin the authentication flow.
  6. Click Sign In with Notion, then log into your Notion account.
  7. Review the required permissions, then click Select Pages to continue.
  8. Tick the checkbox beside the Notion database you want to convert, then tap Allow Access.
  9. Click Complete Setup to finish the connection.
  10. From the right-side panel, select your preferred Notion database and drag it into the doc's main workspace.
  11. Select Table as the format and customize the configurations to your preference.
  12. Tap Sync Now to start importing data from the selected Notion page.
  13. Your Notion database is now converted to a Coda table and ready to use.

📌 Why this matters

Converting a Notion database to a Coda table lets teams migrate their structured data from Notion into Coda's more powerful, automation-friendly environment without manual re-entry. Coda's Notion Pack enables a live, synced connection so your Coda table stays up to date with the source Notion database. This is especially valuable for teams evaluating Coda as a Notion alternative, as it removes the friction of switching tools by preserving existing data structures. The result is a fully functional Coda table that supports formulas, automations, and cross-doc references — capabilities that go beyond what Notion databases offer natively.
