Quick summary
This demo shows how to build a Slack to OmniFocus integration using Zapier, so that every saved Slack message automatically creates a new task in OmniFocus. Setting up this Zap takes just minutes and requires no coding — only your Slack account and your OmniSync Server Mail Drop address.
Steps
- Log in to Zapier and click Create > Zaps in the left sidebar to start a new Zap.
- Click on the Trigger field to open the app search.
- Select Slack from the list of available apps as your trigger source.
- Set the Trigger event to New Saved Message so the Zap fires whenever you save a Slack message.
- Click Account to connect and authorize your Slack account.
- Move to the Action step and open the action event selector.
- Search for OmniFocus in the action app search field.
- Choose Create Task as the Action event for OmniFocus.
- Connect your OmniFocus account by entering your OmniSync Server Mail Drop address.
- Find your OmniFocus Mail Drop address at manage.sync.omnigroup.com/manage if you do not have it handy.
- Click Publish to activate the Zap and establish the live connection between Slack and OmniFocus.
