Closing a payroll account is a legal process because Gusto must handle your final tax filings.
- Sign in to your Gusto admin account.
- In the bottom-left corner, click your Company Name or the Store logo.
- Select Plan & Billing.
- Under the "Gusto billing" section, click Cancel account.
- Click on the Continue button to proceed with cancellation.
- Choose the reason why you are cancelling your account.
- You will be asked if Gusto should file your taxes. Read these prompts carefully.
- If your business is shutting down, Gusto may offer a partnership with SimpleClosure to handle final state filings and dissolutions.
- Type your company name exactly as it appears (case-sensitive) and check the boxes to acknowledge final charges.
- Click Cancel Account.
- You have successfully cancelled your Gusto account.
