How to Cancel Gusto Account

Closing a payroll account is a legal process because Gusto must handle your final tax filings.

1. Sign in to your Gusto admin account.
2. In the bottom-left corner, click your Company Name or the Store logo.
3. Select Plan & Billing.
4. Under the "Gusto billing" section, click Cancel account.
5. Click on the Continue button to proceed with cancellation.
6. Choose the reason why you are cancelling your account.
7. You will be asked if Gusto should file your taxes. Read these prompts carefully.
8. If your business is shutting down, Gusto may offer a partnership with SimpleClosure to handle final state filings and dissolutions.
9. Type your company name exactly as it appears (case-sensitive) and check the boxes to acknowledge final charges.
10. Click Cancel Account.
11. You have successfully cancelled your Gusto account.
