How to Calculate Sums in Coda

Use this interactive demo to learn how to sum a numeric column in your Coda table.

Quick summary

Coda's built-in Summarize feature lets you calculate sums for any numeric column and display the total in a summary row at the bottom of your table in just a few clicks. No formulas or add-ons are required — the result updates automatically as your data changes.


Steps

  1. Navigate to your Coda doc.
  2. Click on the column that contains the numeric values you want to sum.
  3. Select Summarize from the column options list.
  4. Click Sum to choose the sum aggregation.
  5. Select Show in summary row to display the total at the bottom of the table.
  6. The result automatically displays at the bottom of the table.
