How To Build A Journey In Customer.Io

Customer.io uses a visual workflow builder to automate your customer journeys. Follow these simplified steps to get your first campaign running.

1. On your Customer.io main dashboard, click Campaigns in the left sidebar.
2. Start building a new campaign by clicking on the Create Campaign button.
3. Click Untitled at the top-left to name your campaign.
4. Click the Trigger block at the center of the canvas and select Attribute or Segment to target users when they first sign up.
5. Click the + Build button and drag and drop a Time Delay to give the user time to explore the app before their first nudge.
6. Click the Delay block and set it to 2 days, then click Save.
7. Drag a True/False Branch onto the canvas to check if the user has completed a key action, like "Created First Project."
8. Drag and drop an In-App Message onto the False path to show a helpful tip to users who haven't started yet.
9. Click the Start Campaign button to define who enters the journey.
10. Click again on Start Campaign to launch your automated journey.
