Use this interactive demo to learn how to automatically sync Notion pages into a PostgreSQL database.

Quick summary

This demo shows how to sync Notion pages with PostgreSQL using a Zapier automation — no code required. By connecting a Notion trigger to a PostgreSQL action, any new or updated database item in Notion is automatically written as a row in your PostgreSQL table.

Steps

  1. Log in to Zapier, click "Create", and select "Zaps" to begin building your automation.
  2. Click "Trigger" to set up the starting point of your Zap.
  3. Search for Notion in the app search and select it as your trigger app.
  4. Choose a trigger event such as "New Database Item" or "New Page Created".
  5. Connect your Notion account to authorize Zapier access.
  6. Select the Notion database or workspace you want Zapier to monitor.
  7. Run a test to confirm Zapier correctly detects the new page.
  8. Add PostgreSQL as the Action App in your Zap.
  9. Select an action event such as "New Row" or "Update Row" for PostgreSQL.
  10. Connect PostgreSQL, map Notion fields to the corresponding columns, run a final test, and click "Publish" to activate your Zap.

📌 Why this matters

Syncing Notion pages with PostgreSQL via Zapier eliminates the need for manual data entry or custom ETL scripts, making it an essential workflow for teams that manage structured data in both tools. Every time a new page or database item is created in Notion, it is automatically written to PostgreSQL — keeping your relational database up to date in real time. This integration is especially valuable for developers, data analysts, and operations teams who need Notion's flexible workspace connected to a reliable, queryable SQL backend. With no-code automation through Zapier, teams can bridge the gap between Notion and PostgreSQL without engineering resources.
