This tutorial shows how to fully uninstall the 1Password app from a Mac.
Note: Removing 1Password from your Mac does not delete your 1Password account or vault data. Your passwords remain accessible at 1password.com and on any other device where 1Password is installed. Export your vault before uninstalling if you plan to stop using 1Password entirely - see How to Export Your 1Password Vault.
- Quit 1Password before removing it. Right-click the 1Password icon in the Dock and select Quit, or click the 1Password icon in the Menu Bar, hold down the Control and Option keys, and select Quit 1Password Completely.
- Open Finder and click Applications in the sidebar. Locate 1Password, right-click it, and select Move to Trash.
- Press Cmd+Shift+G in Finder to open the Go to Folder dialog. Type ~/Library and press Enter.
- Check the following subfolders for any 1Password or AgileBits-related files and delete them:
- Application Scripts
- Caches
- Containers
- Group Containers
- Application Support
- Preferences
- Close everything, empty the Trash to permanently remove all 1Password files, and restart your Mac.
