This tutorial shows how to add the 1Password browser extension to Comet, Perplexity's AI-powered browser, so you can autofill your saved credentials while browsing the web.
Notes
- You'll need the Comet browser installed and an active 1Password account before starting. The 1Password extension is free for all existing 1Password subscribers.
- If the 1Password extension asks you to unlock separately instead of syncing with the desktop app, open the 1Password desktop app, go to Settings, click Browser, and add Comet as a connected browser.
- Open the Comet browser and click the extensions icon in the toolbar, then select Extensions > Visit chrome web store or go directly chromewebstore.google.com
- Click the "1Password – Password Manager" listing in the results.
- In the 1Password – Password Manager page, click "Add to Comet," then click "Add extension" in the confirmation dialog. Comet installs the extension and adds the 1Password icon to your browser.
- Click the Extensions icon (the puzzle piece) in the Chrome toolbar, then click the pin icon next to 1Password to keep it visible in your toolbar.
- Click the 1Password icon in the toolbar and sign in to your account, or click "Create your 1Password account" to register an account. 1Password is successfully integrated with the Comet browser.
