Here’s a quick and easy guide on how to navigate print preview in Adobe InDesign
Note: Older versions of InDesign had a separate Print Preview window. In InDesign 2026, it’s replaced by Preview mode, Overprint Preview, and the Print dialog.
- In older versions of Adobe InDesign (pre-2026), the Print Preview was located within the Print dialog box, typically on the left side, showing a visual preview of your pages before printing.
- But in Adobe InDesign 2026 (shown for this tutorial), the traditional Print Preview window no longer exists as a separate feature.
- Instead of a separate Print Preview window, Preview mode is accessed via the button at the bottom of the toolbar.
- It can be used as a print view, as it shows your document without guides, frames, or hidden elements, giving a close approximation of how the final printed page will look.
