Here’s a simple and quick guide on how to data merge in Adobe InDesign:
- To perform a Data Merge in Adobe InDesign, first create your document with the desired layout and text frames. Then, go to the top menu and select 'Window' → 'Utilities' → 'Data Merge.'
- The Data Merge panel will open. Click the 'Hamburger' icon in the top-right corner to access more options, then select 'Select Data Source.'
- In the file location window, choose your CSV or TXT file. Click 'Open' to merge data in InDesign.
- The data is now merged and visible in the Data Merge panel. Drag the header names from the panel onto the corresponding text or image frames in your document.
- Check the Preview box in the panel to verify the data.
- Click the 'Create Merged Document' icon at the upper left side of the panel.
- In the dialog box, select 'All Records' and configure 'Record Layout'.
