How to Merge Two Videos in YouTube Studio

Use this interactive demo to learn how to combine videos into a playlist in YouTube Studio.

Quick summary

YouTube Studio does not have a native merge videos feature, but you can combine multiple videos into a single playlist to simulate a seamless viewing experience. This step-by-step guide walks you through selecting videos, using the Add to Playlist option, and saving the result directly from the Content panel.

Steps

  1. Go to the left-side panel and click Content.
  2. Tick the checkbox beside each video you want to merge.
  3. Head over to the top menu bar, then click the Add to Playlist menu.
  4. Choose the playlist you wish to use for merging the selected videos.
  5. Click Save to confirm your selection.
  6. The selected videos will be added to the playlist. To merge them, open the first video and play it continuously through the playlist.

📌 Why this matters

YouTube Studio does not offer a built-in video merge tool, making it difficult for creators to combine footage without third-party software. Using the playlist method in YouTube Studio lets creators group multiple videos into a continuous viewing sequence — no editing software required. This approach is ideal for YouTube creators who want to merge tutorial series, multi-part content, or episodic videos directly within their channel dashboard. Understanding this workflow helps content creators save time and keep their audience engaged without leaving the YouTube ecosystem.
