This tutorial shows how to export your saved passwords and vault data from the 1Password desktop app as a CSV or 1PUX file.
Note: You'll need the 1Password desktop app installed on your Mac or Windows computer to export your vault - this isn't available from the browser or browser extension. Exported files are not encrypted and contain your passwords in plain text. Do not email them or store them in cloud storage. Delete the file from your computer immediately after use. If you unlock 1Password with SSO, contact your team administrator to disable SSO unlock before exporting.
- Open and unlock the 1Password app on your computer.
- Click the ellipsis icon at the top of the sidebar, then select Export and choose the account you want to export.
- Enter your account password when prompted.
- Choose your export format - select 1Password Unencrypted Export (.1pux) to keep all item types and fields, or CSV if you're moving your logins to a different password manager, then click Export Data.
Note: The CSV format only exports Login and Password items and supports a limited set of fields. If you need to export secure notes, credit cards, or other item types, use the 1PUX format instead. - Choose where you want to save the file on your computer, then click Save to confirm.
- Your vault data is now saved to that location. Complete whatever task requires the exported file, then permanently delete it from your computer.
