Use this interactive demo to learn how to disable the AI assistant in Adobe Acrobat.

‍

‍

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to disable AI assistant in Adobe Acrobat.

‍

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat, then click Menu.
  2.  Click Preferences.
  3. On the Preferences settings, click Generative AI.
  4. Uncheck Enable generative AI Features in Acrobat then click OK.
  5. Restart your Adobe Acrobat.

📌 Why this matters

Disabling AI assistant gives you control over your document workflow and eliminates potential distractions from automated suggestions. You'll reduce system resource usage, which can noticeably improve performance on older machines or when working with large files.

Beyond the immediate benefits, this prevents AI features from inadvertently processing sensitive documents through cloud services. Many organizations require AI features to be disabled for compliance reasons, and doing this proactively ensures your documents remain entirely local without any automated analysis or content suggestions being generated.
