Use this interactive demo to learn how to design mobile-friendly and desktop-optimized layouts in Softr.

‍

‍

This is a step-by-step guide on how to design mobile vs desktop layouts in Softr:

‍

  1. In the Apps editor, navigate to your project.
  2. Once opened, icons for desktop, mobile, and tablet views are displayed at the top of your project.
  3. For mobile view, click on your project to access the editing features for your project.
  4. Customize or edit the contents of your project by clicking the specific sections you want to change.
  5. Visual content or photos can also be added to your project by clicking 'Update Image/Video.'
  6. Stock photos can be used, or you can upload and use your own assets by clicking 'Upload Image.'
  7. Further customize your project by navigating to the 'Style' and 'Visibility' sections of your project.
  8. The same procedures apply when editing in desktop view as well.
  9. Click 'Publish' once final.

📌 Why this matters

Designing separate mobile and desktop layouts lets you create truly optimized experiences for each device rather than settling for a one-size-fits-all approach. Users behave differently on mobile versus desktop—they scan faster on phones, expect thumb-friendly navigation, and consume content in shorter bursts.

When you tailor layouts specifically for each viewport, you're not just making things look better; you're fundamentally improving how users interact with your content, leading to longer engagement times and higher conversion rates across all devices.
