Use this interactive demo to learn how to link related tables in your Coda document.

Quick summary

Creating relationships between tables in Coda lets you connect data across your documents using a linked relation column. This feature enables teams to reference and sync rows from one table inside another, reducing duplication and keeping information structured.

Steps

  1. Navigate to your Coda document where the tables you want to connect are located.
  2. Click the + icon in the upper right corner of your table to add a new column.
  3. From the list of column types, choose Linked relation as the column type.
  4. Review the list of all other tables referencing your current table, then select the relation column you want to use.
  5. Your linked relation column is now added and the table relationship is established.

📌 Why this matters

Coda's linked relation feature allows users to create structured relationships between tables within a single document, eliminating the need for manual cross-referencing or duplicate data entry. By connecting rows across tables, teams can build relational databases directly inside Coda without needing external tools or complex formulas. This is especially valuable for project managers, operations teams, and content creators who need their data to stay consistent and interconnected as their documents scale.
