Use this interactive demo to learn how to build Coda charts directly from your Google Analytics data.

Quick summary

This tutorial shows how to create a Coda chart from Google Analytics data by connecting the Google Analytics Pack inside a Coda doc and converting a synced table into a visual chart. The process takes just a few steps and requires no coding — only a Google Analytics account and access to your Coda workspace.

Steps

  1. Inside your Coda doc, navigate to the top-right corner and click 'Insert'.
  2. Click the search bar and type 'Google Analytics' to find the Pack.
  3. Browse the list under Pack Tables, select the Google Analytics dataset you want to visualize, and drag it into the main workspace.
  4. Click 'Connect Read Account' to begin linking your Google Analytics account.
  5. Tap 'Sign In With Google Analytics' and log into your Google account.
  6. Click 'Continue' to accept the terms and grant the necessary permissions.
  7. Tap 'Complete Setup' to finish the account connection.
  8. In the right-side panel, configure the sync settings — such as account, property, and date range — based on your preferences.
  9. Return to the main workspace and click 'Sync Now' to pull in your Google Analytics data.
  10. Click the drop-down arrow next to 'Refresh' to access table display options.
  11. Choose 'Settings' from the dropdown menu.
  12. Click 'More' to view additional display formats.
  13. Select 'Chart' from the available format options.
  14. Configure the chart settings — including axes and chart type — according to your preferences.
  15. Your Coda chart built from live Google Analytics data is now ready.

📌 Why this matters

Connecting Google Analytics data directly to Coda eliminates the need to manually export CSVs or switch between tools to analyze website performance. Teams can sync live analytics metrics — such as users, sessions, and traffic sources — into a Coda doc and instantly visualize them as interactive charts. This integration makes it easy to build real-time reporting dashboards that keep stakeholders aligned without leaving the Coda workspace. For data-driven teams, creating Coda charts from Google Analytics data means faster insights and more actionable reporting in a single collaborative environment.
