How to Create a Segment in Klaviyo

Use this interactive demo to learn how to build and save a targeted segment in Klaviyo.

Quick summary

Creating a segment in Klaviyo lets you group contacts who meet specific conditions, enabling more targeted and effective email marketing campaigns. Using the Segment Builder, you can define rules based on properties like source, behavior, or tags to dynamically filter your audience.


Steps

  1. Go to the left-side panel and click 'Audience'.
  2. Choose 'Lists & Segments' from the list of options.
  3. Click 'Create New' in the top-right corner.
  4. Tap 'Create Segment' to proceed to the Segment Builder.
  5. Enter the required information — including the segment name, tags, and condition — into their respective input fields.
  6. Configure the selected condition by filling out the input fields with the necessary details.
  7. Review your input and click 'Create Segment' to save.
  8. Your new segment will be created and added to your Klaviyo account.
