Mailchimp lets you create a newsletter by choosing an email type, configuring recipients and sender details, designing your content, and scheduling or sending — all from a single campaign workflow. This guide walks through every step of the Mailchimp newsletter creation process, from clicking Create to setting up tracking and social posts.
Steps
- In the left column, click on Create to start a new campaign.
- Go to Email and pick the newsletter type you wish to create: Regular for standard emails, Plain text for simple text-only emails, or Template to choose from Mailchimp's pre-designed gallery.
- Enter your internal email name and click Begin to proceed.
- In the To section, import your contacts and specify the recipients of your newsletter.
- Add the sender name and sender email address to identify who the newsletter is from.
- Add the Subject line and Preview text for your newsletter.
- Choose when to send your newsletter by selecting Send now or Schedule for a later time.
- Under the Content section, click Design Email to open the email builder and create your newsletter layout.
- On the Build page, edit your newsletter content, pick layouts, and customize your design, then click Save and exit.
- Optionally, choose from Mailchimp email templates or code your own custom email design.
- Connect your social media accounts (Facebook, X, and Instagram) to add a social post alongside your email for greater reach.
- Configure Settings and Tracking options such as Track clicks, Track opens, and ClickTale link tracking to monitor campaign performance.
