‍

‍

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to convert a document to PDF in Adobe Acrobat

‍

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Click File on the top menu bar.
  3. Click Create, then select PDF from File.
  4. Select the desired document and click Open.
  5. Once the file opens as a PDF, click the Save icon (or press Ctrl+S on Windows / Command+S on Mac).
  6. Choose where you want to save the PDF.‍
  7. Enter a file name, then click Save.

📌 Why this matters

Converting documents to PDF preserves your formatting exactly as intended across any device or platform. When you share a Word doc or PowerPoint, recipients might see shifted layouts, missing fonts, or broken spacing depending on their software versions.

PDFs eliminate this uncertainty entirely. Beyond basic sharing, PDFs also prevent accidental edits to your original content, making them essential for contracts, reports, and presentations where maintaining document integrity matters more than allowing modifications.
