Quick summary
This demo shows how to connect Discord to Slack using a Zapier automation that automatically cross-posts new Discord channel messages to a Slack channel in real time. No code is required — you simply configure a Zap with Discord as the trigger and Slack as the action, then publish it to keep both platforms in sync.
Steps
- From your Zapier dashboard, select Zap to start building a new automation.
- Click on the Trigger field to choose the event that starts your Zap.
- Search and select Discord as your trigger app.
- Select New Message Posted to Channel as the trigger event.
- Select the Discord server you want to monitor.
- Click Continue to link Zapier with your Discord account.
- Click Authorize to grant Zapier permission to access Discord.
- Configure the trigger details and click Continue to proceed.
- Click Test trigger to verify the Discord connection is working correctly.
- Search and select Slack as the action app.
- Select the action event that determines how the message is posted in Slack.
- Connect your Slack account to authorize Zapier access.
- Configure your action details and click Continue to finalize the Slack setup.
- Click Test step to confirm the Slack action works as expected.
- Once the test is successful, click Publish to activate your Discord-to-Slack Zap.
