‍

‍

  1. To adjust the bullet size, highlight the text and go to the top menu, then click 'Type.'
  2. Select 'Paragraph Styles' to open the Paragraph Styles panel.
  3. In the Paragraph Styles panel, click the '+' icon at the bottom to create a new style.
  4. Click to open your created Paragraph Style Options panel.
  5. Rename your style name under General for easy identification.
  6. Go to 'Bullets and Numbering', set List Type to 'Bullets', choose Character Style to 'New Character Style', and click 'OK.'
  7. Deselect your text and go to Character Styles panel.
  8. Click to open the new style you previously created.
  9. Rename your style under General, then go to 'Basic Character Formats.'
  10. Enter your preferred bullet size in the provided field. Click 'OK' once done.
  11. Click 'Preview' to see real-time updates to the bullet size as you enter a number. The change confirms the bullet size has been successfully adjusted.

📌 Why this matters

Custom bullet sizing gives you precise control over visual hierarchy in your documents, letting you emphasize important points while maintaining subtle formatting for supporting details.

This technique becomes particularly powerful when you're working with complex documents that mix different content types - you can use larger bullets for main sections and smaller ones for sub-points, creating a professional typographic system. By mastering character styles for bullets, you're building reusable formatting that ensures consistency across multiple documents and projects.
