Use this interactive demo to learn how to annotate documents in Adobe Acrobat.

‍

‍

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to annotate in Adobe Acrobat

‍

  1. Open the PDF file you want to add annotations to.
  2. On the right side panel, click Comment.
  3. Select any of the annotation tools in the toolbar (underlink, highlight, strikethrough, etc.)
  4. Apply the annotations to your document.
  5. Click close to exit Comment.

📌 Why this matters

Annotating PDFs transforms static documents into collaborative workspaces where you can provide feedback, mark revisions, and communicate changes without altering the original content. Beyond simple note-taking, annotations create an audit trail of edits and discussions that's invaluable for legal reviews, academic research, and team projects.

Your annotations can be extracted separately, compiled into summary reports, or used to generate revision lists, making it easier to track what needs attention across lengthy documents while preserving the integrity of the source material.
