Try this interactive demo to learn how to merge contacts in HubSpot.

Merging contacts in HubSpot allows you to combine duplicate records into a single contact profile to maintain clean and accurate data.

  1. Log in to your HubSpot account and navigate to your main dashboard.
  2. Click on CRM from the left navigation, then select Contacts.
  3. Find and select the contact you want to merge.
  4. At the top left, click the Actions Dropdown to view more options and select Merge.
  5. In the merge window, search and select the Secondary Contact you want to merge.
  6. Hit Merge to combine these records.

Duplicate contacts create more than just clutter—they fragment your customer history across multiple records, making it impossible to see the complete picture of each relationship. When your sales team can't access a contact's full interaction history, they miss crucial context for conversations and risk appearing unprepared.
