Here’s a simple and quick guide on how to use the Baseline Grid in Adobe InDesign:
- To use the Baseline Grid in Adobe InDesign, first display it by right-clicking the document and selecting 'Grids & Guides' → 'Show Baseline Grid.'
- Once the Baseline Grid is displayed, use the Type Tool to add text to the document.
- Right-click the text frame and paste your paragraph, or insert temporary filler text by selecting 'Fill with Placeholder Text.'
- Highlight the text to activate its formatting properties.
- Under the Paragraph panel, select Align to Baseline Grid (the icon near Hyphenate) to align the highlighted text with the baseline grid.
- You’ll see that the text now aligns with the baseline grid, ensuring consistent line spacing across columns and pages—perfect for multi-page documents.
