In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to turn off read only in Adobe Acrobat:
- Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
- Enter the current password to open the file.
- On the right-side pane, click Protect.
- Click Advanced Options, then click Remove Security.
- Click OK to confirm removing security.
- Click Close to exit Protect options.
- Save the file to keep the PDF without a password.
Note: This works only if the PDF is read-only because of security permissions and you have the password/permission to remove it. If it’s read-only because it’s signed or your computer marked the file as read-only, you’ll need a different fix.
