In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to turn off read only in Adobe Acrobat:

Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
Enter the current password to open the file.
On the right-side pane, click Protect.
Click Advanced Options, then click Remove Security.
Click OK to confirm removing security.
Click Close to exit Protect options.
Save the file to keep the PDF without a password.

Note: This works only if the PDF is read-only because of security permissions and you have the password/permission to remove it. If it’s read-only because it’s signed or your computer marked the file as read-only, you’ll need a different fix.
