Use this interactive demo to learn how to translate a PDF document in Adobe Acrobat.

‍

‍

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to translate a pdf in Adobe Acrobat:

‍

Note: AI Assistant requires the new Acrobat experience to be enabled.

‍

  1. Open your PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. On the All tools pane, click AI Assistant.
  3. Type a prompt such as “Translate document into Spanish” (or any supported language)
  4. If prompted, confirm the source and target languages.
  5. Review the translation in the AI Assistant panel.

📌 Why this matters

Translating PDFs directly preserves the original document's formatting, layout, and visual elements that would be lost through copy-paste methods or external translation tools. You can quickly assess foreign contracts, research papers, or technical manuals without disrupting tables, charts, or embedded images.

Beyond basic communication, this creates opportunities for cross-border collaboration, competitive intelligence gathering, and accessing specialized knowledge published in other languages. The AI translation happens within your secure document environment, so sensitive materials never leave your workspace during the translation process.
