This demo walks you through the complete process of setting up a YouTube live stream using OBS Studio, from creating the stream in YouTube Studio to connecting your stream key and going live. In under ten steps, you can configure visibility, copy your stream key, and start broadcasting to your YouTube audience.
Steps
- Sign in to studio.youtube.com, then click Create > Go Live in the top right corner.
- Begin setting up your live stream by clicking Now.
- Under Visibility, select Public from the dropdown, then click Done.
- Complete any remaining fields such as category and description, then click Save.
- Under the Stream settings panel, locate the Stream Key field and click Copy to copy your stream key.
- Open OBS on your device and go to Settings > Stream.
- Set the service to YouTube - RTMPS and paste your stream key into the Stream Key field, then click Apply.
- Click Start Streaming in OBS to begin sending your feed to YouTube. If successful, the button changes to the blue Stop Streaming button.
- Return to YouTube Studio and confirm your stream is showing as live in the dashboard.
