‍

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to scan using Adobe Acrobat:

‍

  1. Click + Create on the top menu bar.
  2. Select Scanner, then choose your available scanner.
  3. Click the gear icon to configure scan settings (pages, color mode, resolution, paper size, etc.).
  4. (Optional) Choose a predefined scan setting (Auto-detect color mode, Black and white document, Color document, Grayscale document, or Color photograph).
  5. Click Scan and wait for the scan to finish.

📌 Why this matters

Scanning directly through Adobe Acrobat creates searchable PDFs that integrate seamlessly with your existing document workflows. Unlike basic scanner software that produces static image files, this method automatically applies optical character recognition, making your scanned text fully searchable and selectable.

You can immediately edit, annotate, or combine scanned documents with other PDFs without switching between applications. This becomes particularly valuable when digitizing contracts, receipts, or research materials that you'll need to reference or modify later, eliminating the frustrating step of converting files between formats.
