How to Request Tax Extension in TurboTax

Steps

1. Open your TurboTax account and navigate to the Federal section.
2. Select Other tax situations from the menu.
3. Choose File an Extension and click Start to begin the process.
4. Select Start Easy Extension to launch the extension filing flow.
5. Click the Continue button to proceed through the setup screens.
6. On the filing plan screen, select On my own and click Continue.
7. Review your taxpayer information and contact details, then click Continue.
8. After reviewing all information, tap Transmit my returns now to submit your extension request.
