‍

‍

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to remove password from pdf in Adobe Acrobat

‍

  1. Open the password-protected PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Enter the current password to open the file.
  3. On the right-side pane, click Protect.
  4. Click Advanced Options, then click Remove Security.
  5. Click OK to confirm removing security.
  6. Click Close to exit Protect options.
  7. Save the file to keep the PDF without a password.

📌 Why this matters

Removing passwords from PDFs eliminates friction when you need to frequently access, edit, or share documents with colleagues. You won't have to remember or repeatedly enter passwords, and recipients can open files immediately without asking for credentials.

Beyond convenience, password removal is essential for integrating PDFs into automated workflows, digital asset management systems, or backup processes that can't handle authentication prompts. Many organizations also require password-free documents for archival purposes or compliance systems that need to scan and index content automatically.
