‍

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to remove bounding boxes in Adobe Acrobat

‍

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat.
  2. On the menu bar, click Edit, then click Preferences.
  3. Go to Page Display, then uncheck Show Art, Trim & Bleed Boxes.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Restart your Adobe Acrobat.

📌 Why this matters

Removing bounding boxes eliminates visual clutter that can interfere with precise document editing and review. Those colored outlines around text blocks and images make it difficult to see how your content will actually appear to readers, especially when you're fine-tuning layouts or checking alignment.

Beyond the cleaner workspace, this becomes crucial when you're preparing documents for professional printing or client presentations. Print margins and bleeds that look correct on screen can be deceiving when bounding boxes create false reference points, leading to costly reprints or embarrassing formatting errors in final deliverables.
