Use this interactive demo to learn how to switch Salesforce to dark mode in minutes.

Quick summary

Salesforce dark mode can be enabled natively via the Color Mode (Beta) setting in your profile, or instantly through the Lightning Extension in your browser. Both methods require the feature to be installed and enabled before the dark theme activates across your Salesforce account.

Steps

  1. Click your profile icon in the top right corner of Salesforce to open your account menu.
  2. Navigate to Color Mode (Beta) and select Dark to enable dark mode — confirm the feature is enabled in your setup first.
  3. Alternatively, click the Lightning Extension in the top right of your web browser and enable Dark Mode from there.
  4. Once installed and enabled via either method, dark mode will activate successfully across your entire Salesforce account.

📌 Why this matters

Salesforce dark mode reduces eye strain during long CRM sessions, making it easier for sales reps and admins who spend hours in the platform every day. The native Color Mode (Beta) setting and the Lightning browser extension give teams two flexible ways to enable a darker interface without IT intervention. Reducing screen glare and improving visual comfort directly supports productivity for revenue teams working in Salesforce around the clock. This feature matters most for enterprise users who rely on Salesforce as their primary workspace and need a more accessible, comfortable UI.
