Use this interactive demo to learn how to print spreads in Adobe InDesign.

‍

‍

Here’s a simple and quick guide on how to print spreads in Adobe InDesign:

‍

  1. To print spreads in InDesign, go to the top menu and click 'File.'
  2. Select 'Print' to open the Print panel.
  3. Once open, under General, click 'Spreads' and adjust other printing settings.
  4. Click 'Save' to proceed with printing.

📌 Why this matters

Printing spreads lets you see how facing pages will actually look together in your final publication, complete with proper alignment and spacing across the center fold. This becomes crucial when you have design elements that cross the gutter or when text and images need to work harmoniously across both pages.

Without spread printing, you're essentially proofreading half your design at a time, missing layout issues that only become apparent when pages sit side by side as readers will experience them.
