Use this interactive demo to learn how to outline fonts in Adobe Acrobat.

‍

‍

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to outline fonts in Adobe Acrobat

‍

  1. Open your PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. On the right-side pane, click More Tools.
  3. Click Print Production
  4. Back on the right-side pane, click Preflight.
  5. Click PDF Fixups, then click Convert fonts to outlines.
  6. Click Analyze and Fix.
  7. Save your file.

📌 Why this matters

Converting fonts to outlines ensures your PDF displays correctly on any device, regardless of whether the original fonts are installed. This prevents text from defaulting to system fonts that can break your layout or design.

Beyond basic compatibility, outlined fonts become uneditable vector graphics, which protects your content from unauthorized modifications while maintaining crisp quality at any zoom level. This makes it essential for final documents like contracts, marketing materials, or print-ready files where preserving exact visual integrity matters more than editability.
