Use this interactive demo to learn how to open and work with Microsoft Project files.

‍

‍

Opening a project from your computer is pretty much the same as opening a file in any Office program. Here’s how:

‍

  1. Sign in to your Microsoft Project account with your credentials.
  2. Click on the 'Open' option in the left sidebar to browse your available project files.
  3. Browse to select your file. Then, click on the project you want to open.
  4. Your Microsoft Project file should now be open and ready for you to view or edit.

📌 Why this matters

Opening your project files gives you instant access to all your scheduling work, task dependencies, and resource allocations. You can pick up exactly where you left off, whether that's adjusting timelines or reviewing progress.

Beyond simple file access, this connects you to collaborative project data that team members might have updated since your last session. Your project files often contain weeks or months of planning work, and being able to reliably access them means your project management efforts stay consistent and current.
