Use this interactive demo to learn how to move a textbox within your Adobe Acrobat document.

‍

‍

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to move a text box in Adobe Acrobat:

‍

  1. Open your File in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. On the right-side pane, click Edit PDF.
  3. Hover over the border of the text box until your cursor changes to a move/crosshair icon.
  4. Click and drag the text box to the new location.
  5. Click Close to exit Edit PDF.

📌 Why this matters

Moving text boxes lets you fine-tune document layouts without recreating content from scratch. You can reposition elements to avoid awkward page breaks, align text with images or diagrams, or accommodate new content additions.

Beyond basic repositioning, this skill becomes essential when you're adapting existing PDFs for different purposes - like converting a landscape presentation into a portrait report, or reformatting documents to meet specific branding guidelines. Small positioning adjustments often make the difference between a professional-looking document and one that appears hastily assembled.
