Quick summary
YouTube does not offer direct messaging to subscribers, but Community posts in YouTube Studio are the built-in way to broadcast updates, polls, and discussions to your entire audience. This step-by-step demo shows you how to create, enrich, publish, and engage with a Community post from start to finish.
Steps
- Go to studio.youtube.com and sign in to your channel.
- Click Create in the top-right corner and select Create post — Community posts are YouTube's built-in alternative to direct messaging subscribers.
- In the post editor, type your message or discussion topic.
- Add an image, GIF, poll, or video link to encourage more interaction and replies from subscribers.
- Click Post to publish immediately, or use the dropdown next to Post to schedule it for later.
- Once published, subscribers can reply to the post from your channel's Community tab or from their YouTube feed.
- Reply to subscriber comments to keep the discussion active and make your Community post feel like an ongoing conversation or thread.
