How to Mark Critical Path in Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project can only mark the critical path if tasks have durations, tasks are linked with dependencies and the project start date is set. Here’s how:

1. First, open your Microsoft Project file and navigate to the 'Gantt Chart Format' tab in the ribbon menu.
2. In the Format tab, look for the 'Bar Styles' section and simply check the box labeled 'Critical Tasks' to highlight your project's critical path.
3. Your critical path tasks now appear in red, while non-critical tasks remain blue.
