How to Make Adobe Acrobat Faster

Use this interactive demo to learn how to make Adobe Acrobat run faster on your device.

‍

‍

In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to make Adobe Acrobat faster:

‍

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Click Edit > Preferences
  3. Click General, then uncheck Show online storage when opening files and Show online storage when saving files.
  4. Click Page Display. Under rendering options, toggle Use Page Cache (turn it off if Acrobat feels laggy, or turn it on if scrolling stutters).
  5. Click OK, then restart Acrobat.

📌 Why this matters

A sluggish PDF viewer kills your productivity when you're reviewing contracts, research papers, or lengthy reports. These simple preference tweaks eliminate the delays caused by cloud storage checks and optimize how pages render on your screen.

The real benefit goes beyond speed—smoother navigation means you can maintain your train of thought while annotating documents or jumping between sections. When Acrobat responds instantly to your clicks and scrolls, you can focus on the actual content rather than waiting for the interface to catch up.
