Use this interactive demo to learn how to record a meeting as a calendar event in Salesforce.

Quick summary

Logging a meeting in Salesforce means creating a calendar event directly from a Lead, Contact, or Opportunity record via the Activity Timeline. This keeps all customer interactions tracked and visible without leaving your CRM workflow.

Steps

  1. Open a Lead, Contact, or Opportunity tab from the top menu of the dashboard or from the App Launcher.
  2. Click an object from the selected tab menu to open its record.
  3. Click the calendar icon from the Activity Timeline to create a new event.
  4. Create and personalize your event, then click Save.
  5. The meeting is now recorded and logged as a calendar activity on the record.

📌 Why this matters

Logging meetings directly in Salesforce ensures every customer interaction is captured in your CRM, giving sales teams a complete, searchable activity history tied to Leads, Contacts, and Opportunities. Accurate meeting records help managers track pipeline engagement and ensure no follow-up falls through the cracks. By using the built-in Activity Timeline, reps avoid manual data entry in external tools, keeping Salesforce the single source of truth for all customer communications.
