Quick summary
Microsoft Copilot can be integrated with SharePoint to answer questions and summarize content directly from your organization's documents. Once connected, the Copilot chat panel uses SharePoint file content to generate accurate, context-aware responses without leaving the document.
Steps
- Open your Microsoft Copilot account and go to 'Apps'.
- Select 'SharePoint' from the available app options.
- Open a SharePoint site to access its content.
- Navigate to the 'Documents' section within the SharePoint site.
- Choose and open a document from the documents library.
- Click the Copilot icon from the document toolbar to launch the assistant.
- In the Copilot chat panel, type or select your question — for example, 'summarize this document'.
- Click the arrow icon to submit your query to Copilot.
- Review the response — Copilot now answers questions using your SharePoint content.
