Use this interactive demo to learn how to connect Cognito Forms with Dropbox using a Zap.

Quick summary

This tutorial walks you through integrating Cognito Forms with Dropbox using Zapier, so that form submissions automatically trigger actions in your Dropbox account. By setting up a Zap with Cognito Forms as the trigger app and Dropbox as the action app, you can automate file management without writing any code.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the left-side panel and click 'Create'.
  2. Select 'Zaps' from the list of options.
  3. Click 'Trigger' to start the integration process.
  4. Search for 'Cognito Forms' and select it as the Trigger app.
  5. Choose your preferred 'Trigger Event' from the available options.
  6. Tap 'Sign In' and log into your Cognito Forms account.
  7. Click 'Authorize Organization' to grant the necessary permissions.
  8. Fill in the required information to set up the Trigger.
  9. Click 'Continue' to proceed.
  10. Tap 'Test Trigger' to validate your inputs.
  11. Click 'Continue' after the test completes successfully.
  12. Find 'Dropbox' and select it as the Action app.
  13. Open the drop-down menu and specify your preferred 'Action Event'.
  14. Tap 'Sign In' and log into your Dropbox account.
  15. Click 'Continue' to proceed.
  16. Fill out the input fields with the necessary details.
  17. Click 'Continue' to publish and activate the integration.
  18. Your Cognito Forms account is now integrated with Dropbox and will sync automatically.

📌 Why this matters

Integrating Cognito Forms with Dropbox via Zapier eliminates the manual work of transferring form submission data into cloud storage. Every time a new form entry is submitted in Cognito Forms, Zapier automatically triggers a corresponding action in Dropbox, keeping files organized and up to date in real time. This no-code automation is ideal for teams that collect data through online forms and need it instantly accessible in a shared Dropbox folder. It reduces human error, saves time, and ensures that critical form data is always backed up and structured in the right place.
