Dropbox Smart Sync lets you make folders online-only to free up local disk space, or mark them local for offline access — all without moving or deleting files. You can control sync settings directly from Finder using the right-click context menu on any folder in your Dropbox.
Steps
- Open Finder on your Mac to access your local file system.
- Navigate to and open your Dropbox folder in Finder.
- Right-click on any folder you want to make online-only.
- Under Smart Sync in the context menu, select Online-only to remove the local copy and save disk space.
- To keep content available offline, click Local under Smart Sync to download it to your device.
