Quick summary
This tutorial shows how to integrate Coda with GitHub using a Zapier automation, so that new or updated rows in a Coda doc automatically trigger actions like creating or updating GitHub issues — no code required.
Steps
- Log in to Zapier, click "Create", and select "Zaps" to begin building your automation.
- Click "Trigger" to set up the starting point of your Zap.
- Search for Coda and select it as your trigger app.
- Choose a trigger event, such as "New Row" or "Updated Row", to define when the Zap fires.
- Connect your Coda account to authorize Zapier access.
- Select the specific Coda doc and table you want to track for changes.
- Click "Test trigger" to verify that Zapier correctly detects data from your Coda table.
- Add GitHub as the Action App in your Zap.
- Select a GitHub action event, such as "Create Issue", "Add Comment", or "Update Issue".
- Connect your GitHub account to authorize the action step.
- Map Coda fields — such as Issue Title, Description, and Labels — to the corresponding GitHub fields.
- Run a test to verify the Coda–GitHub integration works correctly end to end.
- Click "Publish" to activate your Zap and go live.
