Use this interactive demo to learn how to connect CircleCI pipelines directly inside your Jira workspace.

Quick summary

Integrating CircleCI with Jira lets development teams surface CI/CD pipeline statuses directly on Jira issues, closing the gap between project tracking and continuous delivery. The CircleCI for Jira app connects both platforms in minutes using your CircleCI Organization ID, enabling real-time build and deployment visibility without leaving Jira.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the top menu bar and click Apps.
  2. Choose Explore More Apps from the dropdown options.
  3. Search for CircleCI and select CircleCI For Jira from the results.
  4. Click Get App in the top-right corner of the app listing.
  5. Click Get It Now to begin the installation process.
  6. Click Configure to open the app's settings.
  7. Click Allow Access to grant the necessary permissions.
  8. Review the terms and click Accept to authorize the connection.
  9. Enter your CircleCI Organization ID into the input field and click Submit to activate the CircleCI–Jira integration.

📌 Why this matters

Integrating CircleCI with Jira gives engineering and product teams a unified view of CI/CD pipeline statuses alongside their project tasks, eliminating the need to context-switch between tools. Build and deployment information from CircleCI appears directly on Jira issues, making it easier to track progress, identify failures, and ship faster. This integration is essential for teams practicing agile development who need real-time visibility into their continuous delivery workflows without leaving their project management tool.
